Active listening is critical to excellent representation.
I love Seattle and consider myself to be a near-native, having moved here in 1995. I went to Seattle Preparatory High School and then attended Seattle University, majoring in Communication Studies and minoring in Public Relations. My favorite class was Cross Cultural Communication Studies. I'm the daughter of two college Chemistry professors, and my parents' passion for their research work with Nicaraguan coffee farmers inspired and shaped me. They taught me to love culture and to strive to help the under-represented.
Desperate for some sunshine and a different cultural experience, I attended Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida and was admitted to practice law in Washington state in 2010 (if you look me up in the WSBA Directory- which I recommend that you do for every lawyer that you consider working with- I am listed under my formal name of "Elizabeth" Wurdeman). I practiced at a downtown family law firm for the first two years of my career and then in 2012 I started my own firm and started practicing family law, estate planning and probate for a small local firm in Shoreline, Washington. After 8 years with that firm, I took the leap and started my own firm in 2020 and am thrilled about the balance and freedom that it brings to my practice and my ability to serve my clients. I currently handle estate planning, probate and assisted reproductive technology work through my own firm and am of counsel estate planning attorney for Elise Buie Family Law Group.

My greatest joys are watching my two small children discover the world and grilling in the backyard with my husband. I love reading and can rarely be found without a book.
I operate my practice out of my home in Fremont neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. The transition to a full home office and "virtual" law firm in 2020 was part response to the COVID 19 pandemic and part response to the need that I saw expressed by my clients- the desire to have quality, personalized legal representation in a streamlined process without the expenses and fees associated with a larger and more formal office environment in a commercial building. If you want to deal entirely through email, phone or video conference without visiting a lawyer's office- fine by me. If you want to meet in person, I have several convenient conference room spaces that I use on an as needed basis and am happy to arrange them to meet with my clients. If you want to pay your bill with an easy link from your smart phone and if you want to share documents securely , quickly and easily- we are probably a good fit. If you would like to create a genuine relationship with your lawyer through quality communication and creative problem solving, I would love to hear from you. Regardless of your representation style and needs, I am able to pass along the savings associated with a home office and the flexibility of a solo practice to you, in the form of excellent, tailored service at reasonable, transparent pricing.

People fail to get along because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don't know each other; they don't know each other because they have not communicated with each other.

When they go low, we go high.
